Nutter Spokesman Calls It Quits
There's a job opening at City Hall in Philadelphia -- though not exactly the easiest of jobs these days: the position of spokesman for the mayor.
KYW's Mike Dunn reports that the current spokesman, Doug Oliver is moving on. Oliver has been Mayor Nutter's spokesman since Nutter took office in January of 2008.
The mayor announced that Oliver is moving on, leaving a post that is in many ways no-win:
"I'm sure he knows that on many days he literally gets hit from both sides, whether it's from me or from the press side."
Oliver (in file photo) admitted it wasn't easy:
"I just want to say to the media -- all of you, every single one of you -- have made my life so difficult."
Oliver was only half-kidding.
In October he will be returning to PGW, the natural gas company in Philadelphia, to serve as senior vice president for marketing and corporate communications.
