Please Touch Museum Launches Historical Tour
Philadelphia's children's museum is offering something special for grownups.
KYW'S Karin Phillips reports Please Touch Museum, The Children's Museum of Philadelphia, is now offering weekend guided tours of Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park.
Stacey Swigert is Curator of Collections. She says the new tours are perfect for those who want to know more about the National Historic Landmark and its role in the 1876 Centennial Exposition, the World's Fair for which Memorial Hall was built:
"It's a great opportunity for grownups to come in and find out about the museum while the kids are hardily at play."
Swigert says the addition of the new weekend tours coincide with the arrival of a new group of tour guides, who have just completing a three-month course on the building's history. There are still tours every Thursday.
