Tinto is Chef Jose Garces's follow up to Old City's Amada, bringing the tastes of Spain's Basque county to Rittenhouse Square. The intimate space is designed to feel like a rustic wine cellar featuring wooden grids that display thousands of wine bottles. Choose from approximately 100 wines by the bottle and another 20-plus by the glass from a menu that is divided both by type of wine (red, white, rose, sparkling) as well as the region in Spain. With an Iron Chef as the owner, it's no surprise that the food is also worth the visit. The menu consists of shareable tapas with favorites including spiced meatballs, duck confit and grilled octopus. Tredici opened in late 2015 and has already become a new Midtown Village hotspot. Coming from the Zavino Hospitality Team, Tredici can be considered the more sophisticated "sister" to their popular wine/pizza bar across the street. The food menu features sharable small plates and salads with a Mediterranean focus. As the name suggests (Enoteca is Italian for "wine repository"), wine is the main reason why you'll want to visit. Tredici offers a diverse wine list with more than 20 wines available as half or full glasses, as well as a cruvinet with a rotating selection of 6 vintage wines (typically only sold by the bottle) by the glass.
