Summertime promises longer days, warmer weather and more opportunities for relaxation. The mind is a sponge, and sometimes it's in need of substance, so for art lovers, festivals and traveling exhibits are at the top of the list. If you are an art lover and are looking for something to look forward to, here are the top five art events and festivals coming to the Philadelphia area in summer 2015.

This art event may inspire the kid or kids in your life to have an appreciation for art. Most kids love Legos, and this exhibit features hundreds of thousands of Lego bricks built into displays of some of the world's most famous pieces of work in 3D form, such as Van Gogh's Starry Night and Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. There is also a hands on building area in the Tuttleman IMAX theater called "Ben's Brick House "for your inner artist to build and create. It is free with admission.

Also at the Franklin Institute this summer through fall is a traveling Genghis Kahn exhibit. Treasures and storytelling about one of the greatest empires known to mankind are adorning the Institute. Though Genghis Kahn is often thought of for his barbaric ways, he also contributed to ushering in the modern age to 13th century Mongolia. Jewelry, silks and textiles, ceramics and religious artifacts will be displayed. The art of Mongols during this period featured their horses, rather than other people. There will be documents and relics displayed that are up to 1,000 years old. This display will enchant history buffs and art appreciators alike.

More than 300 artists from all over the U.S. will bring their crafts and art work to Main St. Manayunk in early June. This popular festival in its 26th year brings out the inner artist and art appreciator with over 200,000 visitors. You will find crafts made from fiberglass, photography, wood, and textiles as well as sculptures, paintings and drawings. To keep your energy up from all of the shopping and viewing there will be plenty of food options to refuel the tank. The festival runs rain or shine from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday.

This will be the only stop in the United States for what is being declared as a "once in a lifetime exhibit for art enthusiasts." There will be over 80 works of art from impressionist painters Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Degas and Manet among others. This is promising to be a very popular show, so be sure to purchase tickets early.

The Kutztown Folk Festival is not just any ordinary nine-day folk fest full of crafts, art, food and family fun. It is also dubbed one of the Top Celebrations in America. People from all over will converge on the land of Crystal Cave and celebrate the history and art of the Pennsylvania Dutch. You can find handmade quilts, jewelry and other work from artists from all over the country as well as delicious food. Kids will enjoy story time, animals to pet and puppet making. Pets are welcome on a leash and parking is free.
