Top Philadelphia Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving

If you want to spend more time relaxing with your loved ones and less time in the kitchen, leave the cooking to the professionals this Thanksgiving. These Philadelphia restaurants are serving up traditional meals of turkey and all the fixings. Spend your day at the Thanksgiving parade, kick back with the football game or map out your Black Friday game plan without worrying about preparing your holiday meal.

Owner George Reilly and Chef Leo Forneas of The Twisted Tail have put together a family-style dinner welcoming anyone who wants a delicious meal without the hassle of cooking. For $45 per person, each guest will choose an entrée (traditional turkey, roast beef or ham), which will be carved in the kitchen and then brought to the table with a variety of sides to share. With traditional favorites like stuffing, candied yams, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole and mashed potatoes, there's something for everyone. To complete the meal, each table will receive its own pumpkin pie to enjoy there or take home for later. If you prefer to eat at home, the Thanksgiving spread will also be available as a catered to-go package if ordered in advance.

Serving seasonal American dishes made from the freshest local ingredients, Supper is a prime place to enjoy a family-style Thanksgiving dinner. Choose from sweet potato soup with sage and cinnamon marshmallows or a salad with bacon, apple and cornbread for your first course, then move on to your main entrée of roasted turkey with gravy and cranberry compote and a caramelized vegetable casserole. Pick your favorite sides for the table (one feeds three guests, additional sides are $8), including bacon Brussels sprouts, mushroom and leek sourdough stuffing, apple cider-glazed sweet potatoes, cheddar mashed potatoes and grits with sage butter. End your meal on a sweet note with pumpkin pie topped with vanilla ice cream or apple pie with cranberry ice cream for the table. Reservations are available between 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The cost is $60 per adult and $32 for children under the age of 12. Beverages, taxes and gratuity are not included.

With reservations available between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., it's easy to let the team at this South Street staple handle your Thanksgiving dinner. A special menu will be served featuring holiday dishes such as roast turkey with sausage, beans, cornbread fennel stuffing, sweet potatoes and cranberries for $26 per person. Or go a little nontraditional and order select items from the everyday Bridget Foy's menu. There will be plenty of your favorites, plus a few seasonal treats.

Named "Best Neighborhood Restaurant" in Philadelphia Magazine, this favorite Fairmount spot comfortably balances being both a laid-back pub and fine dining restaurant. On November 28, London Grill will celebrate the holiday with its annual No Basting, Just Tasting Thanksgiving Day Buffet. Let Chef Michael McNally and his team do all the work while you and your group enjoy a special all-you-can-eat dinner of traditional favorites like roasted turkey, sweet potato casserole and sausage cornbread stuffing. The buffet will be served from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and costs $45 per adult and $22.50 for children age 11. Tax, beverages and gratuity are not included. Please call for reservations.

While Percy Street Barbecue isn't open on Thanksgiving Day, you can still enjoy barbecue smoked turkey done right. Chef Erin O'Shea will be preparing her delicious take-home turkeys for the occasion, which are available alone or as part of an entire feast. Turkeys (weighing approximately 15 pounds) are $65 each and come with gravy and cranberry sauce. Serve with your favorite sides that you make at home, or opt for the Smokin' Thanksgiving Feast for $225. This complete meal serves six to eight people and features one turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce, plus collard greens, cornbread sausage stuffing, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, baked apples and pecan pie. Order your Thanksgiving take-home meals by noon on November 21 for pick up on November 27. To sweeten the deal, Percy Street Barbecue will donate the cash value of one turkey to a local food bank for every turkey sold.
