With New Year's Eve just around the corner, it makes sense to start planning where to go to share in the festivities. Will it be a quiet family night at home, watching the ball drop in Times Square? The New Year's Eve gala at Boot & Saddle includes an open bar and a champagne toast at midnight. The event begins at 9 p.m. The Highwater Preachers, formerly known as Slam Hoss, start the joint jumping with bluegrass music. Red Skiles & The Country Ramblers will also be on hand to perform classic county music favorites from country music legends like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Roger Miller. DJ Breakfast or Jonas T. Oesterle, a well-known DJ at Bouffant Bangout, will be playing classic motown, soul and early rock 'n roll, from the 1950s and 1960s.

A six-hour open premium bar is on tap for New Year's Eve at the Mad River Bar & Grille in Manayunk. The open bar runs from 8 p.m. until to 2 a.m. Party favors will be provided by the bar, along with a champagne toast at midnight. The Mad River Bar & Grille has been a fixture on Main Street since 2008. Its rustic-interior bar features open wood beams, wood floors and a classic wooden bar with a casual pub environment.
