If you're looking for a hookah lounge in University City (and some delicious hummus), try the Aloosh Hookah, Bar and Restaurant. For flavors, choose from the $20 Aloosh Gold category (melon mint, berry), the $23 Aloosh platinum category (fuzzy lemonade, peach queen) or the Aloosh Exclusive – unique flavors blended exclusively in house. Hookah refills are $10. This place has events and special offers throughout the week. Tuesday is college night and Wednesday is apple night, where a double apple hookah is only $15. A full bar and belly dancers add a fun twist to your evening.

For excellent service and unlimited flavor changes in Queen Village (4th and South Street), head to Eclipse Hookah Lounge. The lounge is located on the second floor of Kabobeesh Restaurant, which means you can enjoy great Indian and Middle Eastern food while you smoke (try one of its specialty kabobs). There are more than 25 flavors including black peach mist, cola and chocolate strawberry. The hookah charge is $15 per person (even if you don't plan on smoking) and every 30 minutes you can change out your flavor for free.

Head to this Old City lounge if you enjoy hookah and dancing to techno, house and top 40 favorites (house music rules every Saturday night – fans of KISS might try Metal Mondays instead). This place opens at 6 p.m., so it is perfect for the late-night hookah smokers and – if you really want to liven it up – bottle service is available in the VIP lounge. Just sign up here. Orient Hookah is in Northern Liberties. This BYOB (small $2 charge) hookah lounge has excellent service and students receive a 10-percent discount. You can bring in your own food and, when the weather is nice, make sure you snag a spot outside on its peaceful patio. Hookah Alfakher (double apple, strawberry, etc.) is only $15 and Hookah Starbuzz (Pina Colada, Melon Dew, for instance) is $20. Its also one of the only hookah spots in Philly with fresh fruit heads – try pineapple, apple or orange.

For the Manayunk crowd, Smoke is the go-to place for both cigars and hookah. This is also a BYOB establishment with minimum fees (none on Wednesday) and is a great place to chill with your friends while sharing a hookah or enjoying a cigar. Ladies, come in on Thursday for ladies night and receive 50 percent off hookah and 20 percent off cigars. There are large projection screens to watch the game and many hookah flavors.
