This super-sized brewery located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia is known for its flagship Kenzinger pilsner. But in the fall it's all about the seasonals, especially the Joe Coffee Porter, a unique ale that's brewed with locally roasted coffee, chocolate and Dark Munich malts. While Joe is an annual favorite, a special brew is on tap for 2015: In honor of Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia in September, the Holy Wooder Belgian beer has also launched. Yes, Philly is blessed.

First established in 1996, Downingtown's Victory Brewing Company is one of the area's most popular breweries. And this forward-thinking brewpub falls "bockwards" every autumn when it releases the special Fall Bockwards brew, a mash-up of English and German malts finished with a hint of German and Slovenian hops. This rich blend has a rich malty, nutty aroma with dark fruit flavors and accents of caramel.
Yards Brewing Company
901 N. Delaware Ave.
Philadelphia, PA 19123
(215) 634-2600
www.yardsbrewing.com
This large Northern Liberties brewery produces more than 70,000 kegs of brew each year. But for the second half of the year, this place bucks tradition and skips the nutmeg-infused blends that often usher in fall. Instead, Yards' early autumn brew is PYNK, a gorgeous and tart light-bodied berry ale that gets its pink color from the 3,300 pounds of sour and sweet cherries and raspberries poured into each batch. And since October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Yards donates $1 from every case and 5 cents from every pint sold to breast cancer research.

For more than 20 years, Sly Fox Brewhouse has been creating its signature brew in the western suburbs. Today, the Chester County brewery stands out as the first microbrewery in the Mid-Atlantic region to use cans as its primary packaging. From August to October, Sly Fox features its award-winning traditional Oktoberfest beer to celebrate the arrival of fall. The Sly Fox Oktoberfest is a medium-bodied, malty brew made with German Vienna malts and German hops, and it pours a pumpkin-orange color and has an underlying citrus flavor enhanced with hints of caramel and toasted malt. Does that sounds like fall in a can or what?
