Top Budget Fitness Classes In Philadelphia

You don't have to break the bank to break a sweat. If you want to stay fit but need to stay on a budget, you should know that the Philadelphia area is loaded with fitness classes that don't cost big bucks. It may feel overwhelming to wade through all of the choices for affordable fitness classes in the area, so we've narrowed down five great spots to get a workout on a budget.

Drop in and drop the pounds. For just $12 (or a punch on a punch card), anyone can walk in to Philly Dance Fitness to try out the site's many dance-based fitness routines. From African dance to a Bollywood Blast, there's a variety of walk-in options at this Philly hotspot. Owner Deborah Hirsch is licensed to teach everything from hip hop and striptease to aqua dance. (Cardio bellydance is also a thing!) Most drop-in classes are only $12; a few, such as ballet, are $15. You can get a bigger discount by purchasing a five class card for $50.

Make your lunch hour a yoga hour. At Maha Yoga, drop in classes during Yoga Hour (Mon., Wed., Fri. and Saturday, 12-1 p.m.) are only $8. This sweat-inducing 60 minute power yoga class can be found at Maha's location in Center City. The only caveat? They accept cash only for drop in classes. New Students can also take advantage of a $49 deal for ten classes, with even more choices for class times.

(After you take your first class free.)  With high-intensity choices that include Zumba, Urban Kick and Bodyshred, personal trainer Michelle Pallozzi and her staff provide a personal touch to all of their classes. No doubt about it, you'll be hooked on these intense workouts. But at $10 a pop, your wallet can take it easy.

It's pay as you go at Studio 1831, with a class schedule that includes yoga, Pilates, bellydance and more. Voted Best Philly Yoga Studio by CityPaper, Studio 1831 provides a relaxing atmosphere and a great workout at an affordable price. Individual classes are $14 each, and students with ID pay only $12. A ten class card gives you a bigger discount at only $10 a class.

There's no commitment at this Fishtown wellness center, except to yourself. Amrita Yoga and Wellness offers a wide variety of yoga traditions and boasts both early morning and late night classes that will fit anybody's schedule. Classes include aerial yoga, core focus, Tai Chi and Pilates mat. For $15 per visit, guests can pick and choose which classes they want to try, so it's a good way to sample a variety of fitness routines. Deeper discounts are offered with class cards or the $40 welcome package.
