Top Bars In Philadelphia To Celebrate Pride Month

June 14 in Philly is Pride Day, a day when strong supporters of the gay rights movement turn out and celebrate through the city, enjoying entertainment along the way. Fran Drescher is headlining the Pride Day festival, which is held the same Sunday after the parade at Penn's Landing. During this day, and throughout the month of June, there are great bars offering fun events. See below for some of the best.

Franky Bradley's recently opened in the spot the popular lesbian club Sisters used to be. At 13th and Chancellor, it is in close proximity to any Philly Pride events and offers numerous events throughout the year, including the Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret on June 26. Frank Bradley's has gained popularity for serving delicious food like its burger. Also on hand are great cocktails, wine and drafts.

The Philly Pride Parade starts at 13th St. and Locust St.; Knock Restaurant and Bar resides at 12th and Locust St. Come here for an early brunch and a drink on Sunday before joining the others for the parade, or return to the area afterwards for a $20 prime rib dinner. In fact, Knock Restaurant and Bar is a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner anytime of year. Though it's more upscale, it also offers $12 dinner specials Monday through Thursday.

The Philly Pride Parade ends at Penn's Landing, where hours of entertainment, including headliner Fran Drescher and 150 vendors, await marchers. Before the overpasses to head over to the festival at the Landing, there are several bars to grab a drink in or rest your feet in some air-conditioned rooms. One of them is Revolution House, a bar that celebrates Philadelphia's roots and history and serves classic comfort food, like tater tots and mac n' cheese topped with chips, along with cold brews from their eight rotating drafts, wine and cocktails. There's also a great rooftop area, where you'll be able to view the action down below.

The Philly Dyke March is happening Saturday, June 13. Beginning in Kahn Park, participators will start marching at 4 p.m. and return to the park afterwards for free water and entertainment. Just a short walk away lies Stir Lounge, a great place to gather with friends on Friday night before the march. In fact, every Friday is ladies nights, which means no cover, great music and even better drink specials. Happy hour also runs everyday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., so if you come in after the march, you'll be able to enjoy $2 off everything.

Woody's Bar is a popular nightlife destination year-round in the Gayborhood, so you know it'll be no different during the month of June. Woody's is located down the street from the start of the Philly Pride Parade, and is a great place to take your party after the block party ends. If you don't have any energy left, hitting up Woody's anytime is sure to bring a fun time. Events are held weekly, including line dancing, themed parties and special DJs.
