Wine connoisseurs and novices alike can enjoy a good wine tasting now and again to discover new tastes from around the world. Fortunately for Philadelphians, it's not hard to find a wine tasting bar in the city that serves daily wine flights, where you can pick and choose three or four wines off of its menu to try. Cooperage Wine & Whiskey Bar is located in the Curtis Center and is now offering wine (and whiskey) flights. Choose four different wines to try (or one of its featured flights) off of its small but well-sampled and worldly list. Cooperage also serves more than 75 bourbons, ryes, scotch and whiskeys, beer that frequently rotates and Southern-inspired food. Try a sandwich, including pulled pork, salad, cheese board or a small snack, like beef short ribs. House wines are $5 during happy hour.

Jet Wine Bar has wine tasting every Tuesday where you can build your own flight of three 2.5 ounce glasses for only $10, or try a half glass wine for half the price. This wine bar also has wine tastings about once a month that sees Jill Weber, the owner of Jet Wine Bar and archaeologist, guide guests through a tasting of five wines from different regions of the world, like Tuscany or Armenia. Jet Wine Bar has quite the selection of wine from around the world that can be paired with cheese, meats or small plates, like deviled eggs or edamame.

Every Sunday, Tria Café has what it calls "Sunday School" where customers can learn about a unique wine, beer and cheese at inexpensive prices. The syllabus is updated weekly with the wine, beer and cheese featured that week. Wine Bar at Panorama is located in Old City's Penn's View Hotel and, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, has the "largest wine preservation dispensing system in the world." Because of this system, Panorama sees more than 800 wines every year, with selections changing weekly.  Try one of its flights — a selection of five wines each served in 1.5-ounce pours — and choose from more than two-dozen themes. Come in during its daily happy hour and receive $5 off every flight.
