Halloween is now the second largest retail holiday, with Christmas retaining the number one position. During the Halloween season, there are numerous parties scheduled in the Philadelphia region. Check out these events to showcase your costume for Halloween this year.

Halloween and craft beer combine during this spooktacular pub crawl through the bars of the East Passyunk neighborhood. Tickets are a festive $6.66 and include $3 craft brews at 14 area bars, a witch hat and a Witch CRAFT stamp card. Participating bars include Birra, Le Virtu, The Garage, Stateside, POPE and more. Bonus: Don your best costume and you might just win the title of "The Witch of East Passyunk."

A three-day Crawloween Bar Crawl takes over Philadelphia from noon to 2 a.m. on Saturday, October 26; from 5 p.m., to 2 a.m., Thursday, October 31; and from 5 p.m., to 2 a.m., Friday, November 1. Registration is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. at sites to be announced later. Tickets can be purchased for single days or a three-day all-access pass. Costumes are recommended. All crawlers get a bar crawl map, a cup and a wristband. Special drink prices are offered at event venues.

From 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 25 - 26, at Doubletree Hotel, the 50-foot Dead Carpet will welcome guests to the Peter Sterling Halloween Ball. Celebrating its third year, more than 1,000 people are expected to attend. Held in the ballroom at the Doubletree Hotel, the event will feature Drag Queen Brittany Lynn, who will perform with the Peek-A-Boo-Review Show. There will also be a costume contest and The Michael Jackson Thriller Show.

East Passyunk gets scary-fun on this Saturday in October. This family-friendly outdoor party features cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, costume contests for children and pets, pet treats, art lessons and a kids' dance party. Trick or treating will expand this year to include the blocks between the Singing Fountain and the Mifflin Triangle, and free treat bags will be available at the Singing Fountain for the first 500 children courtesy of Aversa PR & Events. Expect delightful treats from vendors like Ms. Goody Cupcake, The Tot Cart, Stateside, El Zarape, Mamma Maria Ristorante, Stogie Joe's, Noord, Fond and Belle Cakery. Live music is also on the schedule.

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends from March through November, the Bootlegger's Ball – Historic & Haunted Pub Crawl departs from Mexican Post at 104 Chestnut Street. An event operated by Grim Philly Twilight Tours, the admission prices covers the costs to four taverns for beer and food samples and drink specials. A singles night is held on the last Saturday of every month.

From 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, the annual Halloween Party at G Lounge will be held. The general admission price features a one-hour vodka open bar, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by a well-known DJ. Guests are asked to dress in "Halloween festive" attire, and there are special bottle service packages offered.

Dress in costume for the 45th annual Henri David Halloween Ball at the Center City Sheraton. Considered to be one of the most outrageous costumed balls in the city, the event includes dancing to musical selections spun by a well-known DJ. The drag divas contest is always a favorite part of the event. Tickets for guests wearing costumes is $25; and, for voyeurs (not wearing costumes), $60. Don't be surprised to run into area celebrities – perhaps, even former Gov. Ed Rendell.

Climb aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia for two separate costume balls! The first, a haunted Halloween dinner cruise, includes a DJ, a dinner buffet and cocktails by the light of the moon and sets off the night of Halloween. The second, an old-school Halloween dance party, includes late night dancing to DJ Jay-Ski and Lady B as well as cocktails and a costume contest. Just one thing to note: While costumes are encouraged, masks are not permitted on Spirit of Philadelphia cruises.
