THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Shao. Welcome to Defend Your Ride Philly. What is your sweet Honda's main use?

A: Since I walk to work, I'm mainly a weekend driver. Sometimes I'll drive it on the weekdays, if I need to buy groceries, go shopping or go out to eat in another part of town.

Q: What's your favorite day trip from home?

A: One of my favorite day trips from home would be to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania during the autumn months. I went about two years ago and I'm thinking about visiting again this fall. The trees and leaves are gorgeous that time of year. I know a lot of people love driving and taking road trips during the summer months, but for me, autumn is the perfect driving season.

Q: Do you have any rules in your car?

A: No rules. It's a fun-mobile! That's why I've got these dancing solar thingies on the dashboard. I encourage my guests to mimic their movements, especially the monkey ones. Actually, I think I should make it a requirement, if you want to ride shotgun.

Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be and why?

A: That depends on the situation. Stuck in traffic? Grumpy. Driving to the mall? Very happy. Sagami Japanese Restaurant? Hungry.

Q: How many miles of life do you think you've got left in your car?

A: I bought it in 2006, and it's just turning five years old. And don't Civics last forever? My dream car would be a Porsche 911 Turbo S or the GT2. I would also love a vintage 911 from the '60s or '70s.
