THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Keith! What can you tell us about your ride?

A: I got it used at Burlington Volkswagon. I traded in my 2005 Jetta for a good price. It's great having a car that is fun to drive, but still practical. My goal is the fastest lap time to IKEA and back.

Q: What is your ride's main use?

A: I use it for driving to the office in Moorestown, New Jersey. It isn't bad, smooth sailing on I-295.

Q: What was your favorite day trip from home?

A: I took my now-fiancee to the shore in the spring and we had a nice time.

Q: What is the farthest place you've driven to with this car?

A: We went to visit my fiancee's family in Lumberton, North Carolina. It took eight hours or so.

Q: Do you have any rules in your car?

A: No vomiting, since a good friend barfed in my last car when I had it for only two weeks. No crummy food and no pets for getting their fur all over.

Q: What would you change or add to your car?

A: I'd add an intake, exhaust, new suspension, FMIC [front-mounted intercooler], sway bars and a K04 turbo.

Q: What do you listen to in your car?

A: APM Marketplace podcast in the morning and whatever at night. I listen to Grateful Dead for long trips across this great American land, Philadelphia Freeway or The Roots when I'm cruising in town.

Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be and why?

A: Well-rounded. I can haul a bunch of crap and park easily while still zooming around.

Q: How does driving make you feel?

A: I have come to like driving more now that I have a car that is fun to drive. In the past, cars have been simple transportation, but I actually like this one.

Q: What do you think your next car will be?

A: My next car could be a Golf R. My dream car, if I got rich, would be an Audi R8, Audi S5 or BMW M3. I'd like to get something four-wheel or rear-wheel drive since I've had front-wheel drive cars since my first ride, a 1986 2-door Chevrolet Caprice Classic with a one-quarter vinyl top.
