Temple University is hosting an unusual artist Thursday night. He’s a painter and motivational speaker, a combination that’s tricky because he has no control of his limbs and has great difficulty talking.
Dylan DeVlieger, a painting major at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University wanted to grow his own vegetables, but wasn’t able to get a community garden started near his Philadelphia apartment, so he created mobile garden carts instead.
Temple University has been awarded $700,000 in federal grants to create what the University calls an ‘urban apps and maps studio.’
While cheesesteaks may be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Philadelphia’s claim to fame, art schools could be the next runner up.
