A Montgomery County man has been convicted of murder in the shooting death of a New Jersey man who was answering an ad for an ATV on the social media site Craigslist.
Prosecutor Guy D’Andrea told jurors that the defendant Thomas Coffee terrorized the 3 armed robbery victims that testified, id’ed him, and executed Daniel Cook when the victim tried to run away.
She said when she called the 9-1-1 dispatcher, she was worried that the shooter was coming to get her too
Two witnesses have testified they were lured to a meeting based on a Craigslist ad for a dirtbike, and were then robbed at gunpoint by defendant Thomas Coffee and at least two other men.
The man who’s being charged with murder, after allegedly luring and killing a New Jersey man by using Craigslist is now facing more charges related to his Craigslist activity.
Police say 23-year-old Thomas Coffee of Willow Grove has been arrested and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Daniel Cooke of Williamstown, New Jersey.
