Nine people have turned themselves in to face theft and fraud charges stemming from a minor bus accident last spring.

Gross revenue from table games was up 7.4 percent last month compared to a year ago, boosted by the second full month of play at the state’s newest casino, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s table games revenue totals released Monday.
The Gaming Control Board has hit SugarHouse with two fines totaling $80,000, $70,000 of which is for seven incidents of gaming involving youngsters from the ages of 17 to 20, which occurred between February of last year and March of this year.
Pennsylvania set an all-time high for gross revenue from table games last month, figures bolstered by the opening of the state’s 11th casino.
The $233-million dollars in gross slots revenue for March was the highest for any month since the state’s tenth full-size casino opened, or any month since legalized gaming began in Pennsylvania.

Mayor Michael A. Nutter today announced that the new tradition of two fireworks on New Year’s Eve will continue as SugarHouse Casino returns to present Twice the Fireworks, Twice the Fun with two different shows 6 p.m. and Midnight, lighting up the skies over the Delaware River.
Slots revenues were up 6.5% in Pennsylvania last month, compared to November 2010, thanks in large part to impressive increases posted by Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino.
Sugarhouse is gambling that the demand for their slot machines and table games will grow as the facility does.
Sugarhouse next year hopes to begin construction of its second phase, says 1st District councilman Frank DiCiccio, “to expand their facility, create a multi-level parking garage, and more public space.”
