School Brass Section To Debut In St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 7-piece brass band at St. Francis De Sales School on South 47th Street in Philadelphia is polishing up two classic Irish songs, “Danny Boy” and “The Irish Washerwoman,” for the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Some Philadelphia Area Catholic Schools Get Reprieve From Closure

The official word comes Friday on which Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area will close at the end of this school year. But several elementary schools are already saying they’ve won their appeals and will stay open.

5th Grader Recognized By Philadelphia Fire Dept. For Life-Saving Role

On the morning of February 16th, Mahlon Graham and his sister were walking to St. Francis de Sales School in West Philadelphia when they saw smoke coming from a nearby assisted living facility and a woman at a window screaming for help.
