A judge’s ruling Friday that New Jersey must allow gay couples to marry will not be the last word on the issue after Gov. Chris Christie’s administration said it would appeal to a higher court.

“We want to just level the playing field so that in all city documents, in all city applications, in all city benefits that the city offers everyone else, then everyone should be able to partake in them,” Kenney said.
Louis Alberta is single but would love to get married someday. But for Louis and other gay and lesbian people living in New Jersey, getting married like heterosexual couples is not an option.
