As of Thursday night, 19 protesters have already been arrested in protests outside the school district’s headquarters – including the president of the American Federation of Teachers.
Group Files Discrimination Complaint Over Philadelphia Schools’ Downsizing
The Pennsylvania public school advocate group “Action United” filed the complaint after, the group said, its analysis of the plan showed that schools slated for closing disproportionately serve African-American, low income, and disabled students.
