Pre-K For PA
There was a show of support Wednesday morning for the expansion of “Pre-K” and early childhood education, as advocates were joined by the district attorneys from Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester Countries.
Looking back at the world of education in 2014, there was much activity. Some progress was made but there’s still room for improvement.
A top ranking U.S. Department of Education official and members of a statewide campaign to increase early learning opportunities for children swapped stories and strategies on Thursday at a Philadelphia City Hall summit.
Kids sang and danced and drew pictures as the grownups pushed for funding for quality pre-kindergarten programs.
The campaign for universal access to pre-kindergarten is growing by the thousands and, as advocates across Pennsylvania clear, it could become an issue in November.
The statewide program is dubbed “Pre-K for PA: All Children Ready To Succeed.”
