Police Officer Shot
Hundreds of police lined the street outside Christ the King Church, on Chesterfield Road, to pay their respects to Trooper Kedra.
A Chester police officer suffered a gunshot wound during a shootout in the city early Monday morning.
The incident was reported at about 4:14 p.m. at North Market Street and West 24th Street.
Officers testified that defendant Eric Torres struggled violently as he resisted arrest. One officer called him “freakishly strong” as he clutched a gun to his belly.
Authorities say a police officer was shot while conducting a traffic stop in Wilmington, Delaware.
During an impromptu press conference, the deputy police chief told the media that the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. inside the building when a suspect being taken into custody for a domestic violence-related incident got into a confrontation with officers.
“Well, I’m pleased charges were approved,” Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey told reporters.
