A festival is coming to Northern Liberties that might not be for the faint of heart.
Philadelphia now has another option for some “ice” skating.
It will be situated in front of the giant outdoor video screen.
The Brooklyn Flea market, which was taking place every Sunday for the past four and a half months in Northern Liberties, has pulled out of the City of Brotherly Love.
The victims were killed during an attempted drug robbery in the upscale apartment complex in 2009. Katoya Jones was caught on tape giving the gang access to the building.
The famous “Brooklyn Flea” is expanding to Northern Liberties, starting June 2nd.
Philabundance hosted its 3rd Annual Cupcake Smash on Saturday, an event to raise money for the organization as it tries to address hunger issues in the Delaware Valley.
“There was a tremendous explosion,” said Ed White, who lives near the warehouse. “And a huge flame just came out of the building early this morning.”
It was standing room only inside the Northern Liberties Community Center. The major topic of discussion was safety, just weeks after a shooting at the Piazza at Schmidt’s that left an Upper Darby man dead.
Authorities are looking for Steven Miller, 22, of Philadelphia.
The incident apparently started around midnight inside the P.Y.T. bar and lounge at Germantown Avenue and Hancock Street.
It’s the second annual “Cupcake Smash,” at the Piazza at Schmidt’s.

Lead defendant Keith Epps, gunman Antonio Wright, and co-defendant Edward Daniels will all spend the rest of their lives in prison with no chance of parole.
If found guilty, all the defendants face mandatory life prison terms without chance of parole.
