County Commissioner Josh Shapiro says the damage threshold the county needs to meet is $2.8 million. He says residents should report any storm damage to their municipality and then the municipalities should include those numbers with any damage to public property as a result of the storm.
Officials Remind Chester County Residents About Shelter, Resources Available While Power Outages Persist
Emergency management crews in Chester County are encouraging folks without power to keep themselves safe while power outages persist.
“It basically covers the costs of any resources that we request from the federal government,” explained a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
PEMA is urging Pennsylvania residents to take the weekend to prepare for at least three days in their homes without power or outside assistance.
At the PEMA operations center in suburban Harrisburg, Governor Tom Corbett said the focus right now is on the central part of the state, along the Susquehanna River.
