Forecasters Predict ‘Active’ Hurricane Season This Year

NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting 13 to 20 named storms (also known as tropical storms) and seven to 11 hurricanes, three to six of them major.

Culprit Sought After Whale Shot, Washes Up In New Jersey

Federal wildlife officials are looking for whoever shot a whale at sea, leaving the animal to wander the ocean in agony for a month or more before it beached itself in New Jersey and died. The culprit could get a year in prison and a hefty fine.
