Technology is changing the lives of the 28% of Philadelphia’s citizens living in poverty.
Recent data from the US Department of Education shows that roughly 36 million Americans between age 16 and 65 lack basic literacy, math and problem solving skills, putting American adult skill levels far below the international average.
In Philadelphia, over half a million adults lack the knowledge, skills, and credentials they need to get a job. They lost their jobs to changes in industry in this new, knowledge-based economy.
