Friday was May Day, International Workers Day. Fast food workers and a state senator marked the occasion in West Philadelphia, with a rally and march for a $15 minimum wage.
As the sun came up on the first day of May, several people gathered in Fairmount Park to celebrate – and to continue an ancient tradition.
Many of these festivals are free or low-cost, so shake off the blandness of winter and get outside!
Protesters occupied the streets of Center City Tuesday as part of the May Day protests that were planned across the country.
