President U.S. Grant is welcoming people to the nation’s centennial at Memorial Hall in 1876 when he slips on a banana. But since the banana is new to America, he doesn’t recognize the fruit, and launches a historical quest to identify it.
The musical “Sister Act” is coming to Philadelphia next week and word was getting out Thursday in ways that would make Rocky Balboa proud.
The wonderful thing about Philadelphia is that there is always such a wide array of concerts to choose from. These are the must-see holiday performances this year.
“Last year, we set the record up here — it was 125 degrees,” recalls Kimmel Center vice president of operations David Thiele.
Local fans, especially students, have an opportunity to get closer to actor Kevin Bacon on Wednesday night.
“In the Heights”, the winner of four Tony awards in 2008, comes to the Academy of Music; January 18th-23rd.
