My Old Lady sure sounds like a comedy. But not exactly.
The casually engaging ensemble comedy makes up for in wisdom and charisma what it lacks in energy and originality.
The problem is that looking for a missing canine, no matter how obvious it is as a metaphor for two-legged characters finding themselves as well, represents a rather flimsy spine for a feature screenplay.
“The Conspirator” is a courtroom drama that tells the true story of the only female charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
“No Strings Attached” earns a chuckle or two and then disappears into the night without making much of an impression.
