City of Philadelphia Asks To Impose Contract Terms in Stalled Blue-Collar Talks

“This is another attempt to circumvent the collective bargaining process by the mayor,” says District Council 33 president Pete Matthews. “It’s not up to the courts to resolve a collective bargaining agreement. It’s up to the mayor to sit down and work this out fairly.”

City Still Trying To Overturn Firefighters’ Arbitration; ‘Sour Grapes,’ Says Union

Common Pleas Court judge Idee Fox heard nearly two hours of arguments on Monday from the city and the union over the arbitration award, which the city says it can’t afford.
