Police are investigating an indecent assault that allegedly happened inside a Philadelphia grocery store.
The incident happened at 10:53 a.m. when an 85-year-old woman was inside of the Superfresh grocery store on New Castle Avenue in New Castle.
Community members chanted “stop the violence” and rallied against crime in Camden at the Life Celebration of slain grocery store owner 46-year-old Miguel Almonte on Thursday.
Police are investigating a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia that left two people wounded Thursday afternoon.
The first full-size grocery store in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia opened Friday morning, and shoppers took advantage of grand opening specials to prepare for Hurricane Irene.
Police say the owner of “Los Ingenitos”, a corner grocery store in North Philadelphia, was shot and killed Saturday evening.
“We need something that’s walkable instead of us having to drive everywhere and then come home and there not be any parking,” one resident said.
