A large protest is being held Monday night outside of a fire station near the scene of Saturday’s early morning house fire that left four children dead in Southwest Philadelphia.

Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer wouldn’t go into specifics, but acknowledges firefighters have gotten threats from angry residents in the aftermath of the deadly blaze.
The community is coming together to support the families displaced by the three-alarm fire in Southwest Philadelphia on Saturday that claimed five homes, as well as the lives of four young children.
Commissioner Derrick Sawyer says fire fighters were called to the 6500 block of Gesner Street at 2:45 a.m. Saturday and found the blaze had already spread.
