Program Designed To Allow Philadelphia Students To Surrender Contraband Into “Amnesty Boxes” On Hold
The pilot program announced last fall put steel Kevlar-lined “amnesty boxes” at Fels, Edison and Roxborough High Schools.
“We had 8,200-plus people get jobs last year, but we had 18,000 who applied,” Mayor Nutter noted.
Three police officers were injured after trying to break up an afterschool fight in Northeast Philadelphia. Five students are now in police custody.
