For the first time in 90 years, the Barnes Foundation is showcasing a contemporary artist, Ellsworth Kelly, from now until Labor Day.
Kelly is an abstract artist who came to see the installation of his wall sculptures, which are on exhibit at the Barnes Foundation this summer.
Beginning May 4th and running though Labor Day, the Barnes will host its first solo exhibit of contemporary art, and the first outside show in 90 years.
Critics of the move from Merion to Museum Row say they should have a permanent display about Barnes and his work.
The Barnes Foundation, about to open in mid-May on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, has installed a major new piece of art.
A contemporary master’s work will occupy a high-profile spot near the entrance to the Barnes Foundation’s new building, about to open in mid-May, on the Ben Franklin Parkway.
