Remembering Those Who Gave All, At Laurel Hill Cemetery

A special ceremony was part of the annual Memorial Day commemoration at Laurel Hill Cemetery in East Falls Sunday: the rededication of the “Silent Sentry,” a bronze statue that was stolen from Mount Moriah Cemetery in the ’70s, then languished in storage for decades after its recovery.

Along Kelly Drive, a section of the bike path just east of Ferry Road looks like it was picked up and thrown down, big rocks from the stone wall that line the river are in the path.

Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck By A Car In East Falls

The woman, who is described as an Asian female in her 20s, was reportedly crossing the street on the 5000 block of Wissahickon Avenue around 11:16 p.m. when she was struck by a 2001 Chevy traveling southbound.
