The pain of a single day, a beloved father and husband murdered, turned to a year of agony after 365 days without justice.
According to investigators, 68-year-old Don Ly was loading his cart with food and supplies when he was approached by a man who stabbed the victim in the neck.
Don Ly’s fruit truck is still parked in front of his home on the 400 block of Vollmer Street where his family, friends and neighbors gathered for the vigil.
Don Ly was 68 years old. He was a husband, a father of four and a man who was well respected in his community.
In an email, Leeto Ly, identifies himself as the youngest son of Don Ly, who was murdered by an unknown suspect around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday while loading up his fruit cart.
Police are going over video that detectives recovered in the neighborhood.
