Disabled American Veterans
A disabled veteran from the Vietnam War era has a new piece of equipment to help him train for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games which will be held in Philadelphia for the first time next month.
Robert Fisher, himself a Vietman vet, pleaded guilty earlier this year to pilfering the money while serving as commander of the Disabled American Veterans chapter between 2008 and 2011.
The former commander of an organization that helps disabled veterans has admitted in Montgomery County court that he stole tens of thousands of dollars from that organization over a three year period.
It’s not always possible for veterans to get to the DAV, so workers in a van go to those in need.
