Coach of the Year
Chip Kelly is among the favorites for NFL coach of the year.
Kelly was named the Maxwell Club’s professional coach of the year on Thursday, the one year anniversary of the date the coach was hired as Eagles coach.
They said his offense wouldn’t work in the NFL. They said the Eagles were destined for a last place finish in the NFC East. They said he would be just another college coach in over his head in the NFL, waiting to get back to coaching on Saturdays as soon as possible. They said Nick Foles couldn’t be a good fit for his coaching style. Maybe everyone was wrong about Chip Kelly.
Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly wins college coach of the year, PSU’s O’Brien finishes second.
He replaces Mike Hohensee, who resigned at the end of this past season — a season that saw Philadelphia go 6-12.
