Villanova is installing an online system in all residence halls that will allow students to control access to both inside and exterior doors using their smartphones.
The message of the few dozen students was clear: the school needs to do more.
The US Department of Education says inclusion on the list “in no way indicates” an institution has violated Title IX, prohibiting sex discrimination, but it’s releasing the list of places it is investigating to “foster better public awareness.”
University spokesman Jonathan Gust says no decision has been made yet and the university is holding forums with students, faculty, and staff to discuss the issue and get input from the campus community.
