Camden authorities are seeking information about a suspicious person in connection with a possible child luring incident.
The incident happened at about 12:43 p.m.
It’s hoped that the new “Academy of Law and Public Safety” will provide recruits to the new countywide police force.
Camden County put out what FOP head John Williamson calls a “take it or leave it” offer a couple of weeks ago, with a January 31st deadline.
They have also tendered a proposed agreement that could allow more current Camden city cops to make the transition to a county wide department.
There was no debate during the special meeting. The vote was 6-1.
The City of Camden, NJ has received the go-ahead to lay off all of its uniformed police officers, in a step toward creating a new, county-run police force.
The decision allows the county to bypass many civil service rules for a year to get the force up and running.
