The student-organized, student-run blood drive, administered by the Red Cross, could be a lifesaver for some of the tens of thousands of African-Americans with sickle-cell anemia.
It’s the fifth annual Philadelphia Eagles-American Red Cross blood drive. From 6am to 2pm, the Linc will host the hundreds of fans expected to donate blood.

“We actually had a glitch in our system when we were signing up donors,” says a Red Cross spokesman. “We overbooked the schedule.”
