A Philadelphia Charter School Holds Blood Drive For Sickle-Cell Victims

The student-organized, student-run blood drive, administered by the Red Cross, could be a lifesaver for some of the tens of thousands of African-Americans with sickle-cell anemia.

Amid Shortfall, Area Blood Bank Pleads For Blood Donors

There is a critical need for blood donations in our region, according to Red Cross officials who spoke today in Abington.

Red Cross Glitch Overbooks Phillies’ Blood Drive, Sending Some Away

“We actually had a glitch in our system when we were signing up donors,” says a Red Cross spokesman. “We overbooked the schedule.”
