This happened around 10:50 a.m. when a man in his mid 30’s entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. Police believe the suspect is approximately 6 foot tall, with blond or light red hair and goatee.
A spokesman for Beneficial Bank notes that customers will not be responsible funds missing from their accounts.
Michael Taggart of Gloucester Township was taken into custody around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Authorities say Michael Taggart is the man seen in surveillance video robbing the Beneficial Bank on Berlin Cross Keys Road around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
“This magnificent building going forward will be renamed Beneficial Bank Place,” CEO Gary Cuddy said. “And will be our corporate headquarters, effective Valentine’s Day, 2014, which is also our 161st birthday.”
