Archbishop of Philadelphia
Archbishop Chaput is just back from meetings at the Vatican, where the pope confirmed a week ago he will be visiting Philadelphia at the end of next September.
The spiritual leader of Philadelphia’s Catholics accepted the thanks of students for keeping their high schools open, and pledged to work with students, parents, and others to strengthen Catholic education in the region.
This week the Philadelphia archdiocese will stand at a crossroads of leadership. Charles Chaput is to be installed as the new Archbishop of Philadelphia replacing Cardinal Justin Rigali.
