Sam Clover

clover sam Sam CloverSince 1998, Sam Clover has been bringing harried commuters “Traffic and Transit on the Twos” every ten minutes on KYW Newsradio 1060.

With a mixture of solid information, good advice, and a touch of humor, Clover makes the morning commute a lot more pleasant for Delaware Valley drivers.

And Sam Clover knows all about Philadelphia area roads. He was born in Abington, and attended William Tennent High School in Warminster and Bucks County Community College.

His first broadcasting job was at radio station WPAZ in Pottstown, Pa., where he was morning DJ and news reporter. He jokes that he also raked the leaves there, and remembers that he had to pull the rope starter on the generator when the power failed.

Clover has been reporting on Delaware Valley traffic since 1980, first as a member of the Arco Go Patrol.

He’s also had the opportunity to do many other exciting broadcast jobs. In 1985, he covered the famed “Live Aid” concert for the Mutual Network, and covered “Farm Aid” later that same year. He’s also been a disk jockey for country music station WXTU in Philadelphia and reported on a number for topics for ABC Radio.

Sam plays guitar in a country-rock band called the “Odd Fellows Band” and lives in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., where he collects “just about everything.” His collection of vinyl music recordings, for example, numbers several thousand.
