All five of the CBS Radio stations in the market – KYW Newsradio 1060, 98.1 WOGL, SportsRadio 94 WIP, SportsRadio 610 WIP and Talk Radio 1210AM WPHT – also join in the holiday tradition by collecting toys at their studios, participating in campaign events and promoting the drive on-air. On-air radio personalities from the various stations will also be featured in TV spots soliciting toy donations.
The Joy of Sharing campaign kicks off Black Friday as the holiday shopping season gets underway on what is routinely one of the busiest retail days of the year. The Franklin Institute will have a toy drop-off box located outside of the SciStore located inside of the museum. On select Saturdays in December the elegant Swann Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia presents Teatime in Wonderland where families are encouraged to bring a toy to benefit the initiative.
Toys will also be collected at numerous locations throughout the Delaware Valley including these special events – the Rittenhouse Square Tree Lighting Ceremony in Philadelphia hosted by Meteorologist Kathy Orr,Wednesday, November 28th (tree lighting at 5 p.m.) and the Narberth Dickens Festival featuring KYW Newsradio’s Kidcast Mobile Studio on Saturday, December 8th (Noon to 4 p.m.). In addition, SportsRadio 94 WIP and SportsRadio 610 WIP will support the campaign by hosting a Joy of Sharing Night and collecting toys along Tailgate Row setup at the Wells Fargo Center at the December 13th Philadelphia Eagles game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
