One of the tallest buildings in Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort is in a stratosphere all its own. With its goal of going above and beyond its guests’ expectations, the casino offers more than 2,000 hotel rooms, a glass-enclosed pool, an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, a cooking school, shops, restaurants, nightlife and gaming.

Set in the marina district, one of Harrah’s most unique and popular features is known as “The Pool.” This unique space includes an Olympic-size swimming pool enclosed in a 90-foot-high glass dome—perfect for a swim during the day year-round, or partying at night under the stars. During the day, guests can lounge in cabanas or partake in poolside yoga, Pilates and water aerobics. At night, the venue becomes The Pool After Dark, one of the city’s hottest nightlife destinations. With internationally-recognized DJs and frequent appearances by celebrities, the nightclub is definitely a hot spot.

There are numerous dining options to experience at Harrah’s Resort. Fine-dining selections include McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, featuring a “Fresh List” of more than 30 seafood varieties from Alaskan halibut to New Zealand grouper; and The Steakhouse, which offers items from Angus Roast Prime Rib of Beef to Pork Porterhouse and also houses a variety of vintages. Also located inside The Steakhouse is Bluepoint, a fresh seafood and shellfish raw bar and martini bar.

For more casual dining, there’s Reflections Café, which serves salads, sandwiches, brick-oven pizzas and also has a noodle bar; the Waterfront Buffet, with its nine diverse food stations featuring over a hundred different options; and the Taste of the Shore Food Court, where guests can grab a snack from Ben & Jerry’s Scoop & Chocolate Shop, Philly Soft Pretzel Factory, Sack O’ Subs or Walt’s Original Primo Pizza.

For coffee and chocolate lovers, Temptations Fine Chocolate and Coffee is a dream come true. Hand-crafted Jacques Torres chocolates are available, along with gourmet cookies fresh from the oven, chocolate drinks (served hot or cold) and illy Italian espressos and coffees. Also on the premises is Club Cappuccino, a European-style café that serves an array of gourmet coffees, espresso, cappuccino, freshly baked pastries, cakes, muffins and a daily selection of bistro-style sandwiches and homemade soups.

Scheduled to open in summer 2011 are Bill’s Bar & Burger, featuring juicy beef and turkey burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, onion rings, crispy veggie fries, milkshakes and international and local microbrews; Luke Palladino at Harrah’s Resort by Chef Palladino, who is best-known for his use of fresh, locally-sourced produce and gourmet ingredients from native Italian regions; and Dos Caminos, by Executive Chefs Ivy Stark and Scott Linquist, which spotlights authentic Mexico City-style quesadillas, tacos, tuna ceviche and fresh guacamole.

After enjoying a meal on the property, some may be inspired to create their own dishes. At the Viking Cooking School, guests have the chance to learn or perfect their culinary skills in a state-of-the-art facility. Cooking classes are taught by expert chef instructors and popular local, regional and national guest chefs. Equipped with professional Viking appliances, cookware and cutlery, the Viking Cooking School at Harrah’s Resort is the perfect place for those who love to cook or want to learn all about the culinary world.

The Waterfront Shops at Harrah’s, a retail promenade, boasts seven shops, including women’s clothing boutiques, a fine jewelry store, select home décor and gift shops and a Sony Innovations store. Most items sold within the promenade can be purchased with Harrah’s Total Rewards Points, or through regular payment methods. Total Rewards members who shop in the stores will also receive special discounts.

Visit the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa for relaxing and rejuvenating. The spa has 23 treatment rooms; a deluxe couples’ suite with an in-room Jacuzzi, fireplace and shower; and separate female and male “wet zones,” complete with a steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi pool; a fireplace; a specialty cold shower with rain, mist and turbo jet settings; and a fitness center for guests.

Looking to stay on property? Harrah’s Resort has plenty of rooms! With a total of 2,590 guest accommodations, the Waterfront Tower offers bay, ocean or city views and features nine penthouse suites, along with 109 junior suites highlighted by limestone floors, freestanding showers, fireplaces, in-room theaters, plasma televisions, and universal iPod docks, iTunes tagging for HD radio, satellite radio, DVD/CD capability and enhanced stereo acoustics.

Harrah’s also has lots of options when it comes to gaming, including more than 3,800 machines and your choice of Blackjack, Spanish 21, Double Attack Blackjack, Texas Hold’em Bonus, Roulette, Mini- Baccarat, Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker, Let It Ride, Craps, Big Six, Pai Gow Poker, Caribbean Stud and Poker.

This summer, Harrah’s will host the Food Network Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival, featuring Guy Fieri, The Neely’s, Robert Irvine and Sunny Anderson. The resort casino has also booked Straight No Chaser for a 10 week concert residency.
