Carol, I am upset about a stray kitty I rescued. I took her to PAWS and she tested neg. for Feline Leukemia, but had a cut that was infected. I kept her a week giving her antibiotics and keeping her separate from my pets as per vet orders. I turned her in to the Montgomery County SPCA and they told me today she will be put down because of her cut. I did some research and the CDC only recommends quarantining bitten animals (I don't even know if her cut was a bite) for 10 days for rabies, but Montgomery Co. requires a 6 month quarantine. They are letting me take her back but they are going to turn in my name to the health department. I need help with this situation. She is young, affectionate, and it has now been eleven days since I found her. What can I do to save her? Sincerely, Karin Spiegler
