I'm having trouble using this site to pose a question to "Ask a Vet" This site is very difficult to use, as the search brings more ads than substance. I cannot seem tofind a vet with common sense. I have a 5 year old cat with seasonal allergies, every spring and fall I call and request mleds to relieve his suffering, and twice a year the vets, vet tech etc -- well you have to bring him in. I am flat out tired of paying upward of $250 for a visit when a script could be written. It's been more than established that this cat had seasonal allergies. Please help me understand this rip-off!

  1. Thank you, unfortunately, this will be my 3rd vet in 5 years. It’s worse than trying to get my own allergy prescriptions filled without an appointment. I am forwarding my question and your response to the vet.

  2. I totally hear you on this. Perhaps it is time to request your records and find another vet. You might also see if there are any refills left on the prescription. I think if this were my cat, I would ask to speak directly to the vet and not the office staff and tell him/her exactly what you told me. They want to see pets once a year, but twice a year for a cat with a yearly, seasonal problem seems to me, as a pet owner, to be not responsive to your needs. If you have more details you want to share, please email me at erickson@cbs3.com . Carol Erickson

  3. Thank you so very much!

  4. Your questions has been sent to Carol Erickson who may be able to better assist you. Thank you.
