New Jersey Congressman Introduces National Animal Rescue Day Bill

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —A New Jersey congressman has introduced a bill to create awareness about the importance of animal adoption.

"National Animal Rescue Day" would be held on the first Saturday of October.

Representative Donald Norcross announced the legislation at the Camden County animal shelter today.

In addition to encouraging animal adoptions, National Animal Rescue Day would also reinforce the importance of spay and neuter programs.
