Driver Arrested For Striking 15 Cars Faces DUI Charges

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say an out of control driver struck more than a dozen cars in South Philadelphia before being arrested.

Authorities say the driver of a Ford F150 struck 15 vehicles Friday night along South 3rd Street between Ritner and Porter Streets.

That's where Michael Magee lives.

"I heard kind of like a screeching noise, I thought it was my kids toys, but we went outside, it was a black pickup truck, F150, smashed into a car, here, three times," he said.

The driver, who authorities have identified as 43-year-old James Keyser, didn't stop there.

"And then proceeded down the road and hit every car down the road," he said.

Magee tells CBS 3 he and another neighbor then stopped Keyser from fleeing. They were joined by an off-duy sheriff's officer who saw the whole incident.

Keyser was arrested for DUI and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There were no reported injuries to any residents.
